Vinicius Junior to reconsider his furure at Real Madrid.
According to a recent report from SPORT, Real Madrid will not sign Nico Williams this summer. The main reason? Vinicius Jr. is not leaving the club.
The Athletic Club winger, who has a €62 million release clause, was being considered by Madrid. However, any possible transfer depended on whether Vinicius would leave. Since he’s now staying, Nico is no longer a target.

Vinicius Jr. Contract Talks Hit Pause
Real Madrid had thought about Nico as a replacement because Vinicius’ contract talks hit a standstill. Even though his current deal runs until 2027, talks to extend it to 2030 have stalled. Vinicius wants to be the highest-paid player at the club, but Real Madrid is not willing to meet his high demands.
Adding to the situation is Saudi Arabian interest, where clubs are ready to offer Vinicius huge wages, far more than what Madrid can offer.

Nico Williams Transfer on Hold
Because of the uncertainty with Vinicius, Madrid looked at backup options. Nico Williams, who has been impressive for Athletic Bilbao and the Spanish national team, was on that list.
But now that Vinicius is staying at least until next summer, Madrid don’t see the need to spend big on another left winger. They recently signed Franco Mastantuono and already have plenty of options on the wings.
Barcelona Remain Nico’s Priority
Nico Williams, 22, prefers to stay in Spain and is interested in joining Barcelona. He likes the new project under Hansi Flick and wants to play with his Spain teammates. But Barcelona’s financial problems could stop the deal. If they can’t afford him, Bayern Munich and Premier League clubs are ready to make their move.
